Cocaine Cassie has delivered a significant bombshell regarding her attempt to smuggle cocaine out of Colombia in a preview for an exclusive interview with Channel 7’s Spotlight.
Cassie Sainsbury was found guilty of smuggling 5.8kg of cocaine out of Colombia within 18 headphone boxes in April 2017.
She was condemned to six years imprisonment in Colombia, before being released early from Bogota Prison in 2020.
Ms. Sainsbury previously claimed she had been pressured into delivering narcotics, and said there was proof of her evidence she could not access – but in the latest interview, the Adelaide lady admitted “I knew what was in it”.
Arriving at Adelaide Airport on Tuesday alongside her wife Tatiana, Ms Sainsbury was accompanied by journalist Jonica Williams and a cameraman.

Ms. Sainsbury’s father has already spoken out on his outrage over his daughters incarceration, claiming he is still seething over his family’s reputation being harmed by her drug drama.
“I’ve not spoken to her for five years,” Stuart Sainsbury stated.
“I am still really irritated about it. My family was wrecked. We share the same surname. I’ve got an old mother to protect.
“I don’t know what to say. You smuggle cocaine. You do your time. I guess she’s done her time.”
Cassie landed back in Australia this week after claiming she would be traveling between Colombia and her home country after establishing up a new life overseas.
“I’m excited to go back (to Australia) certainly – don’t get me wrong, my life is pretty much here in Colombia, and I’m starting a new English school. I’m married, I’m projecting myself in the greatest way possible,” she recently wrote in a post on Instagram.
“We’ll probably end up between Australia and Colombia since obviously her family is here so it will be like, some time here, some time their type of thing.”
Despite spending 2 years, 11 months, and 21 days behind bars, Sainsbury – who has lost weight and speaks with a faint accent, said she “wouldn’t change” the experience of being locked up because it had made her a “stronger person”.
“I can say that I matured as a person, I grew up a lot, I learned a lot about myself, I learned a lot about others, I’ve learned how to analyze people better,” she told 60 Minutes in 2020.
The 7 Spotlight episode will air at 8.40 pm Sunday on Seven.
